JOHNSTON CANYON: MELT 07 8" x 13.5" oil, mixed media on board
This work is permeated with a sense of transition and transformation. Turbulent water becomes still, ice thaws, water vapourizes. My notions of stability and permanence tumble into the enthusiasm of spilling canyon waters, mellow in still pools and dissipates, lost to the air.

In both these series of work, the combination of photographically based imagery along with the manipulative immediacy of paint enables the subject and object to merge and transform from form to mirage resulting in a more profound art form.
When you visit Calgary, AB please stop by Master's Gallery Ltd and while in Kelowna, BC please see my work at Tutt Art Galleries.
